Road freight from Germany to Brno and Moravia

From Saxony and northern Bavaria a full truck reaches Brno the same or the next day; from the Rhineland, Hamburg and Bremen it usually takes 1–2 days. Most German freight for Brno travels through Prague and down the D1 motorway, while loads from southern Bavaria can also come via Linz and Vienna. We move anything from a single pallet to a full truckload for delivery anywhere in Moravia.

Which route does a truck from Germany take to Moravia?

Road freight from Germany to Brno and Moravia
  • From Saxony, Berlin and the north – via Dresden and the D8 to Prague, then down the D1 to Brno.
  • From Frankfurt, the Rhineland and northern Bavaria – via Nuremberg and the Waidhaus/Rozvadov crossing on the D5 to Prague, then the D1 to Moravia.
  • From southern Bavaria – either via Prague or via Passau or Salzburg, Linz and Vienna, arriving in Brno from the south through Mikulov. The latter suits deliveries to southern Brno or the Břeclav and Znojmo areas.

The D1 between Prague and Brno is heavily used on weekdays and roadworks and delays are not unusual. If your warehouse has a fixed time slot, we plan the arrival with a buffer.

How do German goods reach Jihlava, Olomouc or Ostrava?

A truck coming from Germany via Prague passes several Moravian destinations on the D1. Jihlava sits on the D1 roughly halfway between Prague and Brno, and beyond Brno the D1 continues via Vyškov and Přerov to Ostrava, about 170 km from Brno. One German consignment can therefore be split between several delivery points without long detours – for instance part in Jihlava, part in Brno and the rest in Olomouc. We agree the order of drops according to your time slots.

What do we bring from Germany to Moravia?

Engineering and automotive parts, chemicals and plastics, building materials, goods from German distribution and e-commerce warehouses, furniture and consumer products. Many Moravian firms buy through German wholesalers even when the goods are made elsewhere – we collect those consignments from German warehouses too.

What to expect at collection in Germany

  1. Time slot (Zeitfenster) – large German warehouses load only at a pre-booked time. Send the booking number with your enquiry.
  2. Pallet exchange – German sites often require a like-for-like Euro pallet exchange. Let us know whether exchange applies so the driver can swap pallets or have the number not exchanged noted on the CMR.
  3. Sunday ban – trucks over 7.5 t may not run in Germany on Sundays and public holidays from 00:00 to 22:00; in summer a Saturday ban also applies on selected motorways.

Can German goods join a truck coming from Spain or France?

Germany → Brno and Moravia
Germany → Brno and Moravia

Yes, and it often makes sense. Trucks from western Europe cross Germany on their way to Moravia, so we can add pallets from the Rhineland, Baden-Württemberg or Bavaria to a vehicle already heading there. Volumes: 1–6 pallets by groupage, 7–18 pallets as a part load and from about 18 pallets or 7 t as a full 13.6 m truck. The price calculator gives an indicative figure and the process is on how to book an import. For goods from the south, see freight from Austria to Brno.
